PP13 is a 2018 photo annual. With no skate photos.
Yes, for the first (and probably last) time- a whole magazine with no tricks; dedicated instead to the in-between moments, incidents and interactions that we all experience when out skating. (And after all, the point of skateboarding shouldn't be tricks..)
With contributions from Joe Brook, Ben Gore, Jai Tanju, Olman Torres, Benjamin Deberdt, Josh Stewart and Adam Schneider. Guest artist is Glen Fox.
Out now.

Damian Smith, SF 2003; photo: Richard Hart
This and many other unpublished photos of Traffic alumni were unearthed for a special ‘From the Vaults: Traffic’ zine, available now.
160 copies made- 100 (red cover) come with the Richard Hart guest boards (2 different graphics) and 60 more (green cover) are available here and there, separately.

Ricky Oyola- f/s board up, Philly, 2003; photo: Richard Hart
One of my favourite projects from 2018 was working on a guest board for Traffic. Which soon turned into two guest boards and a zine and some shirts.
Here's Oyola swimming upstream in 2003; originally seen in Transworld and reprinted in the zine. (I will, incidentally, be making some photo prints available soonish.)
Best wishes for 2019 and on we go..

There are two new collab boards out on Traffic designed by Richard Hart.
One features drawings of traffic and the other features the photo of Luke Malaney’s bloodied, crooked paws that appeared in PP11.
Both boards come with a limited edition ‘From the Vaults: Traffic’ zine, featuring photos of Traffic alumni 2000-2018.
There are only 50 of each board, so ask Santa quick smart.
A handful of extra zines (without boards) are available from the SHOPPE here, or from Theories (US) or Palomino (UK).

There’s also a feature on the London scene with Benny Fairfax, Charlie Munro, Harry Lintell and others; as well as a guest appearance from a visiting Christian Maalouf.
All this, and a photo of Jaws..!

Jahmal Williams- wallie boardslide, NYC; photo: Richard Hart

Inspired and inspiring stuff.

Frank Gerwer by Joe Brook
The unmistakable profile of one F. Gerwer, shot by Joe Brook for PP3.
If you're looking at this website, you're probably into skateboarding, photography, and specifically film photography. So be sure to check out the three short films that Ilford have just made about Joe Brook, Ray Barbee and Jason Lee, regarding these very subjects. Nice work, everyone concerned.

Ben Gore- f/s nollie heelflip, Athens; photo: Richard Hart
The cover photo for PP11 was this one.
This spot is a bit of a mission to get to (cheers George!) but well worth it. There were storm clouds looming though, and right after Ben landed it, the first drip-drip of rain-drops fell; then a storm of Biblical proportions erupted.
Oh yeh, it was also filmer Zach Chamberlin’s 30th birthday. Quite a memorable one..

Joe Valdez- San Francisco 1997; photo: Richard Hart
The man, the myth, the legend; the Valdez.
This previously unseen photo comes from PP11’s ‘From the Vaults’ feature.

Brian Delatorre- ollie, Paris; photo: Richard Hart
This gap photo from a hidden corner of the French capitol is taken from PP11.
Dela was in town on a non-skate trip with his girlfriend (but those good intentions only last so long, sometimes).

Masaki Ui- 50/50 transfer, Paris; photo: Richard Hart
I suppose you could describe Maz as an ‘underground’ skater- quite literally in the PPWT video..
From PP11.

Ben Gore- b/s 5-0, Athens; photo: Richard Hart
Another one from PP11’s Partial Partial World Tour article (and video).
Athens has a lot of these marble steps- usually smoother than the surrounding ground..
